Ulrike Langer
I am a German-American journalist specialized in analyzing media innovation trends in the U.S. and their relevance for the German news industry. How can I help you?
My work has been published in Kress Pro, the leading German B2B magazine for the news industry, Medium Magazin (Germany's leading journalism magazine), the German marketing magazine Horizont, in annual reports of Germany's news publishers association BDZV and many more publications. You can find examples of my work in my portfolio.
I offer webinars on a multitude of media innovation subjects such as AI strategies for local news, newsletter and subscription strategies, bundling and unbundling, developing new verticals and many more. My webinars are targeted towards the specific needs of my clients, complete with Q&A sessions, handouts and opportunities to follow up individually.
I am a regular speaker and moderator at international media conferences. In recent years, I have held keynotes at the European Publishing Congress in Vienna, the BeBeta conference in Berlin and Medienhaus Next in Ausgburg, and have been on panel discussions at the SWSW German House in Austin.
My intimate knowledge of the U.S. media landscape and excellent contacts in legacy media, startups, tech companies and academia enable me to be the liaison for my European partners. I reach out to potential hosts, build rewarding tour schedules and accompany tours.

She is one of the most competent experts on new media topics in particular and has analyzed the development of new media since the 1990s through the various development phases - from cable TV to the internet, mobile, social media and AI. Always with a clear eye for the success factors beyond the hype.
Ulrike is a passionate educator and an enthusiastic explorer of new technology. As a journalist, she asks clear-eyed, thoughtful questions and writes in a way that's accessible, informative and engaging. It's been a pleasure collaborating with her.

Competent, always up to date with the latest innovation trends in the US communications and media industry - these are just two of the qualities that characterize Ulrike Langer. For years I have valued her extraordinary expertise and ability to impart her knowledge to others, whether as an author, consultant or trainer. As co-organizer of our Chefrunde innovation tours, she has contributed significantly to the success of our CRUSA tours.
